Iowa Christmas

We finally made the trip to Iowa to visit my family for "Christmas" last weekend. Between the weather, work, and sickness, it has taken us 2 months to travel south. We had a wonderful time watching Emerson get spoiled by her Gramma, Grampa, and of course, favorite cousins. Now if only we could convince them to move closer so we could see everyone more often!

It was a challenge getting a good photo with 4 kiddos under the age of 10 but there is no doubt about how much these grandkids love their Gramma and Grampa!

Emerson and her Daddy sporting new gray hoodies. Eric is officially an Iowa Hawkeye fan now. It only took 7 years and an impressive football season to get him on the bandwagon!

"I do it!!!" Emerson's response to life this month. We have officially reached the independent developmental milestone. 11.24.11

October gets 2 because she makes me laugh...

"Naughty kitty! Tiger ate my dinger." Emerson after she cornered the Kelly's kitty in the bathroom and he retaliated. 10.22.11

"Oh my Gawww....Good Job! You went potty Emers!"

Eric putting on a brave face when discovering Emerson's accomplishments in the toilet. It's a learning curve for everyone involved. 10.18.11

Mommy: "Emers let's put a pony tail in your hair and then we'll go to the gym."

Emerson: "Nah, not today Mama."

"Guess what I have in my pocket?"

"It's a treat."

"Go to work Daddy". Sassypants statement to Eric when he apparently was not following our usual bath time routine. Let the attitude begin! 7.6.11

"Birthday chairs". What Emerson calls any patio furniture she sees after our new table and chairs arrived on my birthday. 6.2.11

Mommy: "Hey Emerson, who ate all the cookies?"

Emerson: "Daddy."

"Bye, bye naked" Emerson's parting words while waving to her tummy after putting her jammies on tonight. 4.20.11

"Close your mouth Sweetie. Then you won't drool on your coloring book." My words of motherly wisdom after a total meltdown and a wet portrait of Dora. 2.21.11

"No Mommy!" and "No! My ball!" have now been added to Little E's repertoire. 1.15.11

"You're killing me Smalls" - Eric to Emerson after she licked the sauce off of her ravioli and spit the rest out followed by flinging a spoon full of yogurt at him. Awesome. 8.16.10

"Daddy!" - The word Emerson called every object yesterday. Eric walked in the door after work and she says... "Ball". 8.4.10

"Uh-oh" and "Bob-e". - Emerson's 2 favorite words of the week. Although we still don't know who Bobby is? 7.16.10

"Pools, sinks, and bathtubs are for splashing. Toilets are not for splashing" 7.1.10

"Sit down please" -Melissa about a 1,000 times to date 6.20.10
