Emerson loves to toast with her milk before meals. Most families pray. With Emers' leading the way, our family says "Cheers!".
However, after we read stories before bedtime, Emerson and I say the "Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep" prayer. She is so cute when she folds her hand and says "AAA-men" at the end.
Emerson ran to the fridge, pulled out a Diet Coke and said "Coke. Mommy". She delivered the said beverage to me. She then ran back to the fridge, pulled out a Coors Light and said "Beeerrr. Daddy" and brought that to Eric. Uh-oh, what have we done!?!
Eric and I both agree that there are few things better in this life than Emerson's "big, big" hugs. She'll come running up to you, wrap her little arms around your neck, and squeeze. Priceless.
Eric taught Emers how to wink. She scrunches up her nose and closes both of her eyes very slowly. So stinking cute.
On our way to Iowa for Easter last weekend, Emerson was in the backseat enjoying her chicken nuggets when I looked back and she had one nugget held up to her ear using it like a telephone chatting away.
I love how friendly she can be. She'll flirt with Dan the front desk guy at the gym, she'll say "Hiii!!!" to random people at Target, and sprint outside greeting her friends with "Hi Brody!!!" and "Hi Hope!!!".
When I dropped Emerson off at school today one little boy came running over and stood about a foot away from Emers while I took off her jacket. Ms. Demaris, her lead teacher and a favorite of ours, came over and introduced the little boy as Maddox. She said that he and Emers are so cute together. They hold hands and play together whenever they can. Maddox is adorable with his big brown eyes, spikey brown hair, and wearing his little flannel shirt. I'll go out on a limb and say he actually reminded me of a pint size Eric. The girl has good tastes already! But probably the story of Emerson's life, she stood about 4 inches taller than Maddox. Super cute!
Enough for now.
Life is good.
